Keyshia Cole has released her fifth studio album “Woman to Woman” and I must say, I am pleased with this effort. I can honestly say that Keyshia, in my opinion has never had a bad album. My favorite was her second album “Just Like You” because it showed a different side of Keyshia that most of her fans were not used to.
One thing I love about Keyshia is that she’s true to herself, and her album is 100% R&B, which I feel is slowly but surely vanishing in this pop fueled music industry.
The album opens up with her first single “Enough of No Love”, feat. Lil Wayne. This track takes you back to 2005 when she debuted with her first album “The Way It Is.” She sings “I cant stay here, if there’s no love.” It’s her proclamation of self, that she’s done with tolerating less than what she deserves. A great track to start off this album.
“Woman to Woman” leaves the “in love” theme that her last two albums exuded. The album features artists like Ashanti on the track “Woman to Woman” which could be a 2012 version of Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy is Mine”, with a different twist to it. Meek Mill, Lil Wayne and Robin Thicke are also featured.
My favorite tracks would have to be “Woman to Woman,” “Next Move” featuring Robin Thicke, and “Hey Sexy.”
“Woman to Woman” is a solid release from Keyshia, I think she has a hit on her hands!
